Default Does Gryphon make a difference on a daily driver

Hi, I have an 08 F150 Screw with the 5.4L. I also have no mods and don't anticipate adding any mods. The reason I am looking at an Edge/Gryphon is to increase my mpg. On my last hiway trip I did about 400 miles in around a temperature of 0 degrees (F). I got about 15 MPG on that trip doing 75 mph. Will the Gryphon improve my mpg's at all if all I am doing is a constant 75 mph on cruise?

cheers

YES! Sure will, especially if you get an economy tune. My canned tunes helped my fuel economy, custom tune is even better. I realize I have a lot of mods, but it'll work on a stock truck for sure.

What exactly does "canned" mean? On a stock truck what kind of increased mileage can I expect to get? 1 or 2 mpg more?

thanks

First, to the forums.

"Canned" tunes are the ones that come preloaded on the programmer. Custom tunes are ones written specifically for you calibration, driving style, environment, fuel, and vehicle usage.

Most customers see on average a 1-2 MPG gain in economy on the highway and around 1 MPG city, even with canned tuning.

Hope this helps.

As a real-world example: I have picked up around 2 MPG on the canned level 2 tune in my Gryphon. Around town now I get 14(used to be 12), and on our trip to Florida right now I am getting 17.3 MPG(used to be16). Last fill-up I did the math and it came out to 17.2MPG, so I'm happy.

I just posted in another thread, (but I forgot where) that I got about 15.5 mpg on a recent trip to California driving 70-75. Before Bill's tune, I could only get that while driving 55-60.

I think Bill can definitely tweak the fuel usage so that you'll see gains. And, the truck will feel more responsive too. It's a win-win situation.
