What happens is when it goes to shift (or perhaps its the TC.. idk) it feels like it engages a clutch and waits to catch the next gear. It takes about .5-1 second and then the next gear will engage, but when it catches it kicks.

I will try to get a video of it.
Always look forward to your videos...

Kinda does sound like you are feeling the TC attempting to lock. If so, I believe that can be addressed in the calibrations.
Maybe Cody will see this thread and offer up his thoughts...
If possible, perhaps you could begin recording from a dead stop and narrate at each shift point while guesstimating how much throttle you have into it. (might help with the solution finding process...)

I will try to do that. It doesnt ALWAYS do it so I have to drive around trying to get it to do it so I can try to narrow down when it happens.

I dont think the trans or TC is bad, they were rebuilt like 20k miles ago.

I don't think the trans is bad either. However, you bring up a good point. When the trans was rebuilt, did it receive any modifications? Something simple like drilling out a few holes in the VB plate would make a difference in line pressure and potentially cause the symptom you are describing.

My transmissions will slam into gear if I make it downshift by getting on it, then backing out of the accelerator just before it shifts.

Ruh Roh. I never asked. It was about 2 weeks before I bought the truck

I will go to the shop and ask. They are a very reputable transmission specialty shop around these parts.
