Question pod installation

Dumb question: I just got the Gryphon on sale and stuck the pod w/cable thru it onto the dash. I noticed a little bag w/ "F-150 tab set" in it. What's it for? Haven't found any instructions other than the Gryphon installation on the CD included.

If it's an "L"-shaped aluminum tab like I got with mine, I threw it away. It doesn't seem to have a purpose that I can determine. The pod fits very snugly onto the dash if you press it down.
