Default install

Hello, and please excuse my lack of knowledge. Is there a link to a chip install that anyone knows of for a 97? Am I correct in stating that the chip has to be installed in the PCM? If so where is this located on the truck?
Thanks

Drivers side fire wall. Besure to disconnect the batteries. You will have to pull out the inner fender a bit and . Unbolt the harness, then unbolt the ECM, and pull it from the firewall. Open the ECM up and take the black plug off the back, you will see where the chip plugs into (looks like little fingers). You will need to clean them off real good with some schotch brite and nail polish remover until you get all of the coating off. Then put the chip in. Take a 13 mm socket and take the parking brake bracket off and lay in the floor, run your cable through there to the out side of the firewall, hook up the cable and install the ECM. Put the rest back together and then you just have to figure out where you want your selector switch.

A small Square of Scotchbrite comes with the chip as well.
