Default EGR delete- what is REALLY necessary

I know that this issue been addressed and beat to death, but I have some specifics that I hope that someone can take the time to answer. My truck is an 04 with California emissions . I dont do any big wrenching on my truck, so I would have to have a shop do this work, and I would not be making any of my own mods. If I wanted to buy a kit, which one ? Its almost out of the 5 year warranty, so voiding the warranty is not a concern, but future DMV inspections may be (who knows- they dont do them yet, but who knows). I have read about total delete kits, but one has a new manifold, the others dont (First Coast, Liberator, Elite). Then some have block off kits where the cooler remains (mine is new, replaced under warranty a year ago with the heads), some retain the stock look I think. So, what is the best way to go ? I know its a question with many possible answers, so thanks for your input.

Tom
