Default FICM PCM tunning Quesitons

I would love to order a FICM and PCM tune, just a quick question or so, if im running SCT with custom tunes is it necessary to do the PCM reflash? Is there any benefit, and if so what rollback should I go to? my truck is an 03 and just got the lastest ford flash sadly. My number is in my profile and I have my card in hand ready to order (tried calling multiple times with no joy) thanks!

You don't have to do the PCM with the FICM, it just depends on if you want the factory tow/haul back, or the pilot injection for a quiet idle back. Of course a non SCT tuned 03 with the org PCM programming will run and have more power than a non SCT tuned 03 with the latest ford flash. But with your custom tunes IMHO, I'm not sure you'd really benefit in terms of total power output by going back with the PCM. The FICM is a whole other matter. Perhaps Cody or Bill will comment on this?

if you got the pcm put back i believe you would have to get your SCT tunes rewritten as you have a different strat.

if you get your truck rolled back to a different strat you will have to get your tunes redone..if you just do you ficm no mod in tunes is requried...bill and I put mine back to a tec3 strat ..I can honestly say it runs and pulls better stock on a tec3 strat than it did on the tec6 strat with a mild tune in it..better fuel milage also.

How is shifting in the TEC3 strategy? Didn't the later updates have transmission improvements?

i have the tec3 strategy, and i like the way it shifts better. it does alot more engine braking when in towhaul, and doesnt take so long to get it to downshift.
