The Conversation Pit This is where EVERYTHING else goes. No subject is too mundane. How's the weather in your area? Did your kid cut his first tooth? Really, what do you think about the President? And don't get me started on Cummins and Duramaxes. Have at it!

Default Whatever Happened To....

Just had an awakening thought while driving down the road.
I buy some of the music I listen to through the internet and download it to the computer.
Yes some of the sites offer the titles and album art and whatever else goes along with the song.
But back in the days when I bought hard copies of albums most of them came with a lyric sheet. So I guess you knew what the words were when you were listening or singing along.
I know through searching the internet a person could find those lyrics but its a shame they don't come with a song when you buy it.
Just a thought.

This way it leaves the door open to come up with your own lyrics.

Heck, over half of my cd's didn't even come with lyrics. I think out of about a dozen or two of cd's only 4 have the lyrics. Luckily I can pick up the words by the third time I hear the if its a good one.

If a song ain't clear enough for me to understand the lyrics then I probably dont want to hear them anyway.

Seriously though... you'd think with digital media the way it is, and with the proliferation of websites with (occasionally inaccurate) lyrics that music download sites would have their MP3s tagged with the lyrics and album art. I think the reason they don't is because the tags fatten up the files and increase storage space and bandwidth. As it is, it's almost impossible to find downloads with any better quality than 192k. Fortunately, Amazon is usually 256k but iTunes is often cheap on quality.

A lyric tag wouldn't take up that much space. Not compared to album art.
But I like to read what the song is about from time to time.
Cause most decent songs are short stories being sung. Yes sometimes the lyrics aren't understandable but its fun for me just to know!
