Help HELP!!!! I am getting injector module codes

I am getting a P1316 injector driver module codes detected code and in the morning, or really if it's been shut off for several hours, this truck runs like it's missing on several hits. It will also not reset code. This happens until my truck gets up to FULL operating temp, then check engine light goes out and code can be reset. I really need my truck so if I can get help fixing it before I wind up in a dead truck on the highway that would be nice. If anyone has Any advice it would be great. Thanks everyone. BTW it's my 2003 f250 with 7.3L got gryphon w/canned tunes. Thanks again.

Help Getting worse

This issue is now getting to the point that it is fairly constant. The hitting happens mostly at idle but every so often it "jumps" while going down the highway. I have replaced fuel filter and added both a full shot injector cleaner as well as added to fuel. My work hours ate longer then the local shop's so I need to fix this myself if I can. Thanks

If you cant do a buzz test and figure out which valve cover harness is your issue you will have to pull the covers and take a look at the connectors. They have issues coming un-clipped, and Ford sells a devise that helps keep them together.

Tiny, on the inboard side of each valve cover, you can see a wire harness connected to the valve cover. You can disconnect this harness, and use an ohm meter to see if you may have trouble under the valve cover.

Test on the pins going into the valve cover to read resistance from the glow plugs and injectors. Getting good contact of the test leads to the pins can be a pain.

G G I I C I I G G

Test between "I" and "C" to test the injectors, should be less than 5.0 Ohms.
Test between "G" and battery ground to test glow plugs. Should be between 0.6 and 2.0 Ohms.

Thats about the best way to check!

But beware, if the connection problem is intermittent the the test results can be misleading and a visual inspection will be necessary.

Good Luck.

Thanks guys, again

Thanks all that helped me out. I did the resistance tes on the passenger side, test good, I then hit the deiverside. I had to remove enough stuff to get my big hands in I just removed the valve cover, bingo. The connector had it's keepers streched, so that was my problem, I replaced my gasket and harness under cover. Been running for a week all good. Thanks again.

Congrats!

If it happens again Ford sells a small plastic piece that you insert into the connector to stop it from wiggling loose.
