Default Old SuperChip Help

Found this in a 1997 f-350 7.3 I bought, did a little bit of research and found that it may have been from PHP. TDE0 is PCM code, marked out area is name. If anybody knows what tune is on here, that be awesome. And if it should be safe to put this in my truck???

Justin,

Wow! That's some pretty old tech. Haven't seen one of those in a while.

So here's the deal... At the time, (20 years ago) those chips were state of the art. They've long been superseded by multi-position, 4 bank chips, and the tuning has been improved and updated since that chip was last programmed.

With that said, they did work. The chip may not be the latest and the tuning is definitely not going to perform as well as tuning that is more current, but it will certainly provide some performance increase.

The only thing I can't say for certain is exactly what tuning is on the chip. At least not without sending the chip in to be read. If the chip was already on the truck and you were happy with the way it ran, just put it back on. If you looking for something with a little more refinement and flexibility, you may want to look at other chip options since I don't think there is anyone that can still program those old chips. I used to make the hardware for those and even I don't have anything. Once we came out with the Hydra, we stopped using all the old hardware and it just kind of got lost or eliminated along the way.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Take care.

I'm usually up between 4 and 5. My sleep schedule is a mess lately so I just go to bed earlier.
