Default First time out.....

and I was a little disappointed, but still had a lot of fun.

First pass I left the line waaayyy to soft and turned a 14.01 at 100.6. Next pass I launched a bit too hard and had the truck hopping for a second, let off and rolled back in and got a 13.62 at 101.2.

Next pass I left around 14 psi, launch felt very strong, then pop......... and engine shook like crazy, so I let off and coasted the rest of the way and got a 14.03. After the pass the engine ran terrible and had the classic popping out the intake sound..........oooops must have bent a pushrod or broke a rocker.

Towed it back to the shop and tore it down to see what happened, and yep broke both rockers on the #1 cylinder, which is the same hole that tossed the rod on the original engine and popped the head gasket on the new one.

Here is the video of the second pass.......

#1 is your enemy.

#1, I order you to take a #2. HA HA

Running a pass down the strip looks like so much fun. I'm just too damn paranoid that I'm going to break something.

This is really starting to get old I'm sure. At least if you have any more issues with it, you don't have to do any diagnostics...just blame #1.

Yup, pretty crappy.

Put new rockers on this morning and put her ALL back together and it would not restart, could not build any ICP. Ended up tracing it down to a HPO leak on the passenger side, and guess what.................#1 strikes again.

The injector was leaking oil right past the poppet somehow, tore injector down and did a visual and found nothing real obvious, so I put it back together and stuck it and and leak was gone, WTF.

Anyways it is running again and I will be spending the rest of the day tomorrow putting her back together.

Man between this and the race car I have spent the last few weeks at the shop until midnight about every night................... the old lady is about to disown me.

You don't need this, man!!!

At least it looks to me like you got all of the pieces from your rocker pedestal explosion.

That rocker setup is a joke on these things, especially since it's almost mandatory to put stiffer springs in them to keep the valves closed at high RPM.

Agreed!

I think I am retired from drag racing for awhile till I get this issue (valve) sorted out, still had a good time though!
