Summer Toy
Picked up this 09 Rhino 700 last week......
  Got about 100 miles on it and I started to notice a engine noise. I dropped the oil out of it and cut the oil filter open....and sure enough....metal flakes packed into the filter media. In classic 907DAVE fashion.....motor is coming out.    How's that for luck.....and the timing could not have been better.

You get summer up there?
 My sister-in-law's step dad has one of those, but it's the 450 model. He had the same thing happen to him.

Well got the motor completely torn down now and it appears to have lost a lower rod bearing. I ordered an OEM crank with a Carillo rod, machined clutch sheave and clutch kit for her. Hopefully I will have parts next weekend.
Here's a shot of it with the jug off.........  While I was in there I could not resist a little bit of port and polishing on the head.   I also did a bit of super-tuning on the exhaust system, should have a bit more pep when its done. |
