Engine Failure Survey Raw Data
Hey, Everyone... thanks for being so patient! We finally received all the data we'd been waiting for from vendors involved in the survey , and at this point, this survey is now closed.
so much to everyone who took the time to respond. We are confident that the information collected will be useful in identifying engine failure trends. Below you will find a link to the results from the Engine Failure Survey that has been available since October. If you choose to view the data, please be aware of the following: Vendor bashing will not be tolerated, and there will be swift and severe consequences for members who choose to do so. This is your only warning.
We have contacted several tuners to find out the number of tunes they have in service. This number is more accurate than the number of chips sold, as different chips hold different numbers of calibrations.

Pretty good information. Have they determined what caused most damage such as type oil running, Leaky inj, blown head, bad engine mounts, etc. I work at the railroad and 9 times outa ten we figure out what the failure was to try to keep from it happening.

Bill will be working on analyzing the data as soon as he has the time -- that was the whole purpose for the survey. (There are already some very distinct trends if you look at the data... particularly with the damaged injectors.) Hopefully, he'll be able to work on it soon!

How was the extrapolation of the "power adder" part of the survey compiled?
Seems that the collection of data was set up wrong? Arrgghh! I don't know how to explain it. I do see the way that the data was collected on the power adders but what struck me as odd that it highlighted the "no"'s for each one and didn't highlight one power adder that had the greatest # of responses. I do see that each one was an individual yes/no question.
