Default Hello!

Hi everyone!

I'm from western NY, outside Buffalo. Bought a used F150 last summer when I was working at a local Ford Dealership. I've had several Rangers before and had been looking for another, but none were to be had, but my 150 fell into my price range and was a steal for the age, mileage and condition. My truck is an '05 STX supercab with a 4.6L, auto, with 3.55 limited slip. A nice combo to have around here if you don't have 4WD to deal with winter.

Since I got my truck, I've added an AEM Bruteforce CAI, Magnaflow SI/DO cat-back exhaust, Edge Evo (which I plan on upgrading to a Gryphon), 180 degree T-stat, tinted windows, FX2 valance, H-D headlamps. My future plans are to add a few more performance upgrades, a set of gears to lighten the load on the 4.6, and a set of lowering shackles.

I found out about Power Hungry from the F150Forum, then had Edge tech support refer me here as well; so, I suppose this is the place to be when you need help, or some tips.....
I look forward to bouncing some ideas off of those here in the forum. I'm curious to know if some things I'm considering anybody has done, and whether they have been beneficial or not. Like a lot of people right now, I've been downsized out of a job, so mods are going to have to be cheap and effective....best bang for the buck, as I'm sure you can understand.

Sorry to hear about the job, but welcome to the forum.

You probably know this, but you ARE likely to be running lean with the CAI. PHP recommends you use the canned Level 2 tune, since it's richer, and keep your foot out of it until you can get a custom tune.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Hey Rednoved.... I like the AEM, but the quality has gone down since I bought a kit for my last Ranger. It seems like the hardware is cheaper. In fact, the other day I noticed that the isolator that supports the tube to the air dam has broken. When I went to install it, I had one of the bolts break while tightening it with a 1/4" ratchet.... and it wasn't even tight yet. I ended up replacing all the hardware from the bulk bins at work, just so I didn't have anymore issues, the isolator was the only thing I wasn't able to substitute.
