Default Time for another Gryphon

OK here goes, I have sold my F150 and now have a 2005 F350 SWB 6.0l 6 speed manual. It's all stock except a K&N intake and all new injectors from what I can tell. I have now sold the F150 so I can start getting this truck where I want it. I do not pull sleds or race this truck, it's a daily driver that pulls my bass boat, atvs and camper. It will normally not pull over 10,000lbs. I do not have the funds (or time) right now to stud the heads, I am doing an EGR delete kit from Sinister and may do a new oil cooler. What tunes would work well on this truck from PHP? Also, if I order the Gryphon it comes with the EGT probe, but the CS and CTS does not correct?

Sorry for the long post, trying to make sure I get what I need!

If it was me, and I had a six speed, I'd just get the ficm programmer. Yes you are limited to the mono chrome gryphon, but with your set up you dont require any trans tuning, so why not? With your limited funds, it would be the most bang for the buck. Others may disagree.

my $.02

OK, so I guess I need to look on the forums for the difference between a normal programer and a ficm programer.

OK, now I am more confused than when I started! So if I order the $400 FICM tuner I do not need to run another ECM tuner correct? This truck came with a SuperChips flashpaq, but I don't need to run both correct?

the ficm programmer has nothing to do with ecm tuner, it only programes the ficm. as long as your superchips flashpack is'nt already reprograming the ficm then you should be safe to use both at the same time. some programers/tuners as i understand it should not be used in conjuction with the ficm programer, and i'm sure someone on this forum could tell you if you can stack yours safely or not.

oh, and no you do not have to run any other programmer with ficm programmer. you can run ficm programmer by itself if you want to.

What he wants to know is, if he does have a functioning MAF, is there a way to trick the PCM into thinking that the EGR has not been tampered with.

The answer is no, there is no way to trick it without a custom tune or modified stock tune to stop the ECM setting off a EGR code.

No, you will need a custom tune or a modified stock tune.

I may just get a Gryphon CS for now, get the FICM Atlas 40 later as funds replenish.
