Default Mounting Insight CTS

I bought a CTS for my 06 King Ranch. There is only 1/8" between the top of the pod and the bottom of the grab handle. That means the Insight will NOT fit w/o modifing the setup. Is there a different pod for the KR or why does it not clear the handle. Anybody else have clearance issues with the CTS and grab bar, if so, what did you do?

I have not installed it yet. I just got the pod painted and when it dried I put it in for fit. When I put the adapter on the insight and put it in the pod, there i no way it is gonna clear the handle. On PSO a guy posted pics on an 03 (I tkink) and the handle was at least 1" from the pod. Is there that big of a difference between the 03 and 06? Does the fact that it is a King Ranch matter? The 03 deffinately was not a KR.

Hmmm, I'll get Corey's attention to see if she has any ideas.

Nobody with a KR and CTS with this issue? That Murphy is a S.O.B.

Only thing I can think of is to move the mounting tabs on the dash pod down. All of the pictures I've seen of the CTS is on trucks without that handle. You could change to a guage mount pillar that has clearance for the CTS but you'd lose your handle.
...or move the handle to under the roof like on the chevys. Then you'd still have a handle, CTS and either a guage mount or regular pillar.

I just modified the adapter plate, check that, cut the tabs off the plate, used 3M 2X sided tape and made it work. Looks good, just will not be able to use the video in port since I had to move the CTS down 3/4" or so to get it to clear the handle. BTW, I can use my mirrors so a reverse camera isn't all that necessary!

Good deal, but you could always drill a hole for the cable to go through if you ever installed a camera.
