3M doulble sided accessory tape(tape is grey with red covering) same stuff as vent visor uses. Napa, auto zone, advance, and orieleys should all stock it.
I don't have your year truck or that style pod.
Just make sure you clean your dash good.

Mine fits tight enough that I didnt have to use anything. Although 88Racing's idea is a good one, I'd be worried about it sticking too much and messing up the dash if you were to ever remove the pod. That tape is stiiiicky.

If you have a 97, you have the older model pod. I actually started with one of those, and while it didn't "stick" to the dash, it never really went anywhere either, due to the tension in the cable and the way it mounted.

I finally DID apply some double stick tape though, I think under the front edge of the pod just above the vent. It seemed to work better than putting it at the back of the pod (toward the front of the vehicle).

I put 3m double sided tape from Walmart on mine. I put 2 strips on the side of the dashboard towards the door. I put 1 on straight part, then did a small piece where it curves. Then I put a SMALL piece on the curved part of the pod that fits inside near the gauges. I actually stacked 2 3m double sided tape so it would stick. It fits good. And it hasn't affected my dash from the 2 times I had to remove it. It wouldn't stick without any tape. Once you peel the pod off after taping it, you'll have to retape it.
