Default got my programmer updated...

I got my gryphon updated with the metric features added. I dont think the L/100km appears at all, and it feels like the truck drives different. Would this update affect my custom tunes at all?

thanks

I'm not 100% sure but I think I read somewhere that if your custom tunes were made before Nov of last year, you might need to have your tunes rebuilt before you upgrade. Not really sure but I'm betting Bill, Corey or Jack will pick up on it and let you know for certain.

Found this in one of Bill's post:

First, we have added the capability for customers to be able to update ONLY the firmware in their unit without having to overwrite their custom calibrations. This should simplify things for everyone and they can stay on top of the latest features and fixes without any difficulty.

Here's the caveat... If you have custom files that were made BEFORE 11/20/2008, they are NOT compatible with the new firmware and must be rebuilt before updating. Let me make this clear, DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE if we did your files before 11/20/2008! There are 3 new files added to the latest builds that are required for the firmware to work correctly. If you would like to update to the latest firmware, please e-mail us or call us and we will rebuild your calibrations and set up a Targeted Download for you which will include the latest firmware. Once your calibration is updated, you'll be able to select [Firmware Only] upgrades from the Gryphon Update Manager to stay up to date.

Don't know if this applies to your situation but if your truck is driving different you may have overwritten your custom tunes.

I think Tomcat may be right. Give us a shout tomorrow, and Bill can reload your tunes on the server. No worries!

Dan,

I rebuilt and reset the download. Give it a shot and let me know if everything is back to normal.

BTW - Make sure you use the [Updates] - [Targeted Functions] or you'll end up with the canned tuning again.

Take care.

Just to keep from having Bill ask these questions (sorry for the idiot treatment)! :o

You DID, return the tune to Level 0 before removing the programmer from the truck, right?

When you plugged the programmer into your PC, Pegasus seemed to recognize it and showed the programmer's serial number on the status line, right?

And, the PC was accessing the internet without any problem otherwise during all this, right?

If all the above are true, then I suspect the new target files have been built with the wrong serial number or HEX identification. And this may be nothing more than some error in your User CP information? You might check that too, to insure that it is correct.

If none of this applies, then I guess the only thing to do is to get on the phone to Bill to work the problem.
