Default Custom Tunes question

Yeah, I got the word from UPS, I'm getting a special package from some special people in Georgia, I have never been so anxious to see a big brown truck in my adult life. But any way, I have a question regarding the custom tunes that were recommended, 87 tow and 87 performance, is there a mad Doctor in the house that could give me a brief explanation. I do know these were recommended based on my driving habits and vehicle use, just wanted to know how to apply either of the tunes.
Thanks, Kenny.

Hey there, I don't have any experience with the gas products but I took this directly from the PHP website. Maybe you've already read it, maybe not, but I hope it'll help.

Performance calibrations - For maximum fuel economy, you should choose a performance calibration, and most people will use a performance tune as their daily driver. Our performance tunes provide aggressive fuel curve and timing curve changes to help maximize efficiency and performance -- not just at full-throttle, but throughout the entire throttle and RPM range.
Fuel economy gains rely greatly on driving style.

Tow calibrations - PHP's tow tunes are written to maximize pulling capability and low to mid RPM torque. Though many customers see fuel economy gains vs. stock or even canned tunes, these calibrations are not written specifically for fuel economy.

Kenny - I'm not sure what you're asking. If you are planning to tow something, load the tow tune, if not, just use the performance tune. Once you connect the Gryphon to your truck, and with the ignition ON (engine off), just hit the Menu button and select "Power Programming" to change tunes.

Jack's got it covered there. If you empty or moderately loaded (< 2500 Lbs.) the performance tune is the ideal setting. If your pulling heavier loads or mild loads through rough grades, the towing would be a better fit. Let me know if you need a more in-depth explanation.

Take care.

Thanks for the info guys, this is what I needed to know. I was just a little miffed about the performance tow, because in my explanation of driving habits I said that towing wasn't something of concern, but as far as custom tune selection I think this fits the bill better than choosing 93 performance, I already spend enough on gas as it is.
