Default egt probe from insight work on evolution?

I am trading a guy my insight for his evolution and I am wondering if the egt probes are interchangeable? Just hoping that we each don't have to take the probes out of our trucks and swap them. Mine is part #98600 and his is the one that came with the evo.

If I were you, I'd call PHP and find out if this is possible.

Or, since you are talking "Insight" and "Evolution" here, you could also call Edge. Just don't use the word "Gryphon". Since the hardware's the same, they should know the answer to your question. Tell them you're trading your Edge Insight for his Edge Evolution.

My guess is, they ARE interchangeable, since the hardware looks the same, but I wonder if the Evolution would need a firmware update to be able to monitor EGT?

Depends on WHEN each unit was manufactured. Early units are 4-pin plugs with later units (CS/CTS) being 6-pin. As long as they're both the same series (older, monochrome display units) then the Thermocouple should work just fine.

Take care.
