Default Pleased with Gryphon- Questions

Just want to say hello to everybody in the forum, and I just want to say thank you for helping me with all the positive reviews on the Gryphon. It really kicked my *** into getting rid of my old microtuner and going with the Gryphon, as I bought used, their are currently no custom tunes as of yet, but the canned tow tune kicks the hell out my stock, truck seems to like it too, just wondering if anybody had any opinions on the tow tune for driving on the highway, or is it just desired in town, mind you I don't tow at all right now, do you have better gas mileage or less, what are your thoughts about running that tune at highway speeds , Thank you for your input.

Welcome to our happy bunch of lunatics!

The tow tune is a very good all around driving tune. It's optimized for pulling power from a standstill, but I found it has very good passing power on the highway too. And, it improved my gas mileage when I used it. I liked it so much that my first custom tune was a tow tune too, and I used to use it all the time too. Finally, I broke down and got a non-towing 87 octane tune though.

Thank you very much for the info and your opinion, I'm heading out of town this weekend so Ill see how it does, its amazing how what these tiny things can do to our truck. I found it hard driving with out my microtuner tune waiting for the Gryphon to come, but I dont think I'd be able to drive at all without this now, I hate the stock f150 throttle delay it sucks. Anyways gonna maybe look into getting some custom tunes, with a maggie cat-back and a air force 1 intake, I'm sure bill can work out a good tune for me , I dont know the guy but the way he is praised on these forums, it sounds like he knows his sh*t.

Yeah the tow tune is probably the best all around because it uses strategies intended to (more) efficiently move heavier loads. If you have larger than stock tires and other "bigger" mods it can help that out as well because all the engine sees is more load.

And yes, I guess you could say he knows his stuff. He's done some pretty crazy stuff with his tuning and software.
