Single cab long bed , 355 gears, and 265/70/17 10plys the towing tune did do a little bit more spinning.. lol

Your basically stock too huh. All I got is CAI, straight pipe, Gryphon with custom tunes. 3.55ls with 265/70/17 MT/R's.. 10ply. Son of a gun. lol.


I bet you'd run a crazy time on the high octane tune.. you should try it and let us know! Once my gas tank is low again, I'll fill it up with 91 oct and run my 91 oct performance tune.

i never let my tank get pass 3/4 lol that's just me tho.... i run it on 87 tow and i could tell a differance i still ran a 6.87 tho so imma call it 6.7-7.0 imma try 1/4 mile tommorrow ill let you know.

i racer once told me that there is always power to be made from exhast... straight pipe doesn't seem all that good to me.(but thats just me) i have a buddy with a 2001 F150 with a 55k rebuilt motor and my truck dusts him i think hes got a little taller tire tho a 285/70/17... you tell me whats going :/

I'll end up putting a Cherry Bomb Extreme on it probably pretty soon. But I don't think my time will be much quicker if any from 7.8.

Just to add another few notes:
1. The bigger your cab the heavier your truck. Even standard cabs with a long box are lighter than a super cab with a short box.
2. The 4X4 drive train components add additional weight and rolling resistance
3. Gearing and torque control can make a big difference also.

AZFX4 how did your truck take off did it spin alot or little or not at all?

And to add to that, I've noticed that the current weather(temp, humidity, barometric pressure, etc) and even more important fuel quality (not octane but how well it burns compared to other brands and batches) make a big difference. From the quickest to the slowest 0-60 times I have over a 1 second spread for my "best of the day" runs. The quickest was in 50˚ weather with a good batch of gas and the worst was 100˚+ with fuel that didn't seem to burn well. The daily records did improve with temperature but only when the fuel was good. I'm not so sure that temperature makes a big difference considering 50˚F air is only about .007 pounds per cubic foot denser than 100˚F air. But when our trucks bring in 200 g/s at WOT...Oh my, looks like I'm arguing with myself again.
I wonder what our 0-60's would be at along the coast right now with denser air and a cold front that promises 19˚ tomorrow?

And keep in mind that each truck is different, that is why we were all attracted to custom tuning. To use help improve (or remove) those little quirks.

I can do 0-60 in 1.5 sec sitting still in my driveway right now with the snowpack and ice on it!!!!!LOL's
8" of more snow coming tonight and tomorrow with winds up around 40mph+!
I won't be seeing to far ahead of the truck nose tomorrow either!
