Bill posted an opinion on this just a few days ago. I imagine you could find it if you did a "search". Basically though, he said you gain very little if anything with the so-called "ram air" intake.

GO GOTTS, I did the gotts mod about a week and a half ago and noticed some improvement immediately. It feels like the throttle responds a little quicker and definitely picked up a little power around 2000 to 3000 rpms. Not bad for a $9.00 mod, unfortunately I cant tell you if mileage improved, because a few days later had new exhaust put on and I'm having an allergic reaction to it, it is making my foot have spasms and push down a lot. Dont know whats going to happen next week when I get my GRYPHON!!!

Your going to go into shock and not get to drive your truck for awhile.

The gotts mod is definitely the most cost effective upgrade you can do.

Quick question? What is Gotts? I have an AFE CAI w/ the AFE Silver Bullet throttle body spacer.

It is a cheap modification that opens up a narrow portion of the intake. Gives improved air flow over about 2500 rpm.

In my opinion, if you are going for CAI. You definitely need to go with AFE Power! Just make sure you get custom tunes to account for it. Lean conditions are not good.
