My gosh! :omg: Usually, when I mention Grass Valley, I get a blank look!
My Father was a mining engineer at the Empire Star mine (which is now closed and has become a State Park). I first left when I was a year old when my Father decided to play in the WWII war games - he included a fun time on the beach at Normandy on D-Day in his experiences. We went back to Grass Valley when he came home and I was five. But, we left for good when the Government needed him to play in the Korean conflict.
I've never been back there since leaving but I keep telling Janet it might be fun to take a trip to that area sometime.
Great to talk to people who know the area!
