Default How much difference???

I have a 2007 F-150 standard cab with a 4.2 V-6 and a manual tranny. Is there a programmer for this set-up? Would I notice enough difference to make it worth the cost? Thanks for any help or advice you may be able to offer. I have never used a programmer before.

Thanks Shotgun. I guess the next question would be weather or not there is a Gryphon that will work in my truck.

No it won't. The Gryphon is only for 4.6L or 5.4L V8.

Sorry!
The gryphon is available for 4.6 + 5.4 only.
PHP does offer the sct xcal3 or sf3 as seen here:

Actually, gentlemen, the Gryphon does support the 4.2L. It's just that it's going to be custom only job as we don't have all the base files built specifically for the 4.2L setups. We've done quite a few 4.2L equipped trucks already and if I had more time, I'd get the cals built and included. But as you know, time is short and the work is long.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Thanks for the correction Bill. I am sure that my wife thanks you as well. I have had my truck for less than a month and have already spend quite a bit on upgrades and have many more on the list. I would be interested in a tune to get better gas milage in normal driving and one to boost my towing MPG. What kind of increases should I expect with my set-up?

Honestly, 4.2L gains are rather modest with 8-12 HP and .8 to 1 MPG being about average. Not a screamer, but certainly respectable.

Learn something new every day!
But being custom then that's why it's not listed.
What else don't I know?

If you're at all like me, the question that would earn a much shorter answer would be, "What DO I know?"
