Wait for tunes before intake install?

Hi, I have a gryphon and a cold air intake in the mail and have a question regarding if I should wait until my custom tunes come before i install the intake. I have a 2007 Ford F150 5.4.

I have a feeling I should wait for my custom tunes before I put in the intake which should compensate for any leanness.

I'll just use the canned tunes for now I think but I figured i'd ask here first

Thanks in advance!

If you are for sure insisting on installing the CAI then yes, you should wait for the tunes to get to you before you install the CAI. A possibly better idea is to do the Gott's mod for very cheap, and sell the CAI, and then use the money elsewhere... .
Most CAI's on your truck won't do anything except help it run lean, but Bill can adjust the truck to compensate. They do help remove flow restrictions, but the Gott's mod can do the same thing for a whole lot cheaper.
Off the soapbox now... lol
I hope this helps, Enjoy the new power

You could get by with the level 2 tow tune until you get the customs but personally I'd go with the Gotts mod.
