Default Gryphon Data Log

Here is the second rough draft for data logging with the gryphon.
Any opinions would be nice.

*I will be adding some sentences on how do get through the menues on the gryphon. I just put how to get there and what the options are in an outline format to save pages.

NOTE: If you are just going to read through the write up, skip to post #4, these five are to show pictures.

Wow this looks interesting. Would this be used as an output to show Bill how the tuner is performing? I know it can be used for a purpose but can you explain in a little more detail why someone would view the logs like this?

If a person knows how to extrapolate the data from this it can be a valuable asset to the owner of the truck and Bill.

Wow, I knew this was a nice forum but I kind of expected to hear something for how many mistakes the previous write up had. My plan was to post those five pages with full quality pictures then post this version of the more correct write up. But I had internet issues and couldn't post the second half. So here is the more finished version. The pictures dont look to good because of how my computer compressed the document so compare the pictures with the first pages.

Xperties-I'm sure Bill could use it to see how the tune is working on the truck but I doubt that by now he would really need to look at it to know whats wrong.
Last week there was a thread where the data logging was useful in quieting an intake drone. In my write up I did include a small portion about changing the scales to show correlations between different problems. I think that it would be hard to do that on the final write up because of all the different kinds of problems that can come up. I have used different methods to polish my canned tunes before I got my custom.

Exactly, a tool that nobody knows how to use isn't any more useful than a person that knows how to use a tool they dont have.

...and now for the prettier one.

ahh very nice. I think I'll do this tomorrow and make that tutorial for you as we spoke about.

It's like your own dyno output...lol

Actually, the gryphon can be used as a basic dyno. The 1/4 mile runs can be computed in pegasus to give a rough horse power estimate and the data log can give you a lot of other important info. The picture that I have attached below is something I made from the gryphon/pegasus info and a program called JMP. I made one graph of MAF by RPM to see how much air the engine takes in.

All kinds of possibilities.

VERY nice work, Longshot! I feel I could do this process with no problems now, after reading your excellent writeup. I DO have a few suggestions, and will PM them to you. They're actually quite minor and reflect more my former profession as a "teacher" than anything else.

Thanks, here is the 3rd revision (even though it is named second)
Dont worry about the 'teacher' corrections, the only time I did well in english was when I had a smart left handed person sitting to the left of me. They are harder to find than you would think!

Here is #5 (just learned to count )

And Jack, I was trying to save space on the previous versions because I cant upload anything bigger than 250 kb. I did get rid of some pictures that did not contribute to the write-up as a whole. Now I have an extra 50 kb, but it is still far too big to use full detail pictures (about 3 times too big on regular compression and close to 6 times as an editable document). Oh well on the pictures, they're still the same ones on the first 5 pages I posted.
