I just think that its crappy on EDGE's part that they dont even have anything about their release date for the 09 F150.

I bet Edge doesn't have a bug free tune yet for the 6 speed, and they probably wont release it until every model is covered (just to be fair). I was looking at it yesterday and the new transmissions aren't as straitforward as the older ones. The new trannys have options to skip gears and such. I'd imagine that there would be some confusion between the programmer and the computer on shifting strategies if it can change the way it shifts at the touch of a button.

The problem I think that they are running into is now there are 2 brains.
1. Motor.
2. Transmission.

The reason being is that if there is a problem with a particular setup, Ford doesn't want to have it affect a large line (like the F-Series). So they tool up and introduce the changes on a smaller line (like the Expedition) and then if all goes well they roll it into the rest of the applications. Better to have 25,000 Expy's have a problem than 250,000 trucks.

Bill- do you know "about" when edge will be ready to release the CS for the 09 f150. I know i talked to them a couple of weeks ago and they said it could be next week or it could be a couple of months. Im just guessing they would let you in with a little more detail then they would give the callers.

I've been working with one of the engineers on some of the routines for the '09 but overall I don't really have any idea how much further they have left to go. You probably know about as much as I do at this point. I should be out there in 2 weeks and will know something then.
