Default what tunes should i get??

i was tring to think of the three tunes i wanted when ever edge lets php release the gryphon for the 09 f150. I have a true dual exhaust, K@N CAI, and a jet MAF. what tunes do you guys recommend?

and how much more performance all around do you get with running a 91 octane performance(custom) compared to the 87 octane(custom)

also on a side note, i dont really do any towing at all so i dont want a towing tune. i really just use the truck as a regular everyday truck but i do have a lead foot at times. so i was thinking of a performace tune for everyday stuff and fuel economy tune for longer trips.

Get rid of the Jet MAF(IMHO) and get custom tunes. Let Bill know your mods and he will tune accordingly.

I dont have a custom 91 to compare to my 87 perf tune, But the 87 performance tune that Bill wrote for me feels every bit as strong as the 91 canned tune if not stronger. Just figured I would throw that out there.

What octane do YOU want to run?
That's the question?
Why not just two if your into performance? Like 87+91 custom performance tunes?
Keep the canned tow.

I noticed that as well. My 87 custom performance runs really well on any grade.

I agree, even if you never use the towing tune it doesn't hurt to have it.

Martinoledad,
I think it would be safe for me to assume that between 87+91 that there would be a 10hp difference with 87 being the lessor of the two.
2004-2008
5.4 3V up to 35hp+ on 91-93 custom tune. STOCK ONLY
5.4 3V up to 25hp+ on 87-89 custom tune. STOCK ONLY

4.6 2V up to 20hp on 91-93 custom tune. STOCK ONLY
4.6 2V up to 15hp on 87-89 custom tune. STOCK ONLY

STOCK ONLY=NO MODS INSTALLED

That's about all the numbers I know.

Another way to look at this (and help you make your decision), would be to evaluate your 87 octane canned tune CAREFULLY, then fill your tank with 91+ and using the 91+ octane tune, do the same thing. I imagine the differences you "feel" between the two canned tunes would be duplicated in the "custom" tunes, it's just that the "custom" ones should be a little better overall.

I've never felt the need to try the 91+ tune, so I cannot comment on how much better it is. I'm perfectly happy with the way the truck works on 87 octane.
