Default GRYPHON CS SETTINGS

Hello to all.. Im new here and have just bought and insalled the Gryphon CS
in my 07 f-150 4.6. Im pleased w/ the canned tunes and cant wait for my custom ones from bill !! I changed up sum settings as in timming, WOT fuel and trans.shiffting but im not exactly shur how to set converter lock & unlock points and what they do?? Also, mine came with the gear ratio 3.73 as the stock but my truck has 3.55 ! I was driving it for 2 day before i figured this out. Is this a big issue or do i just reset it ?? Any help w/ all this would be appreciated !!!

I think it may be a good idea for you to read Jack's Q+A on the custom
option menu for you to broaden your horizons of understanding it.
Q And A About the Gryphon's Custom Options Menu

Peace!

The adjustment for the converter lock point deals with the mph above or below the "baseline" value set for that tune. If the tune tells the converter to lock at 50 mph then setting it to -5 will make the converter lock at 45. Same if you go up 5 mph, the converter will lock at 55 mph.

Oh and I have found that it is best to keep the lock and unlock points together so that things stay simple. I also find it usefull to write down every change you make on paper so that you can make tweaks easier.

X2 on what Longshot just told you. Reducing the TC lock points will stop TC slip sooner and keep it from happening under load longer which COULD improve your gas mileage a bit. This setting should also result in a slightly cooler transmission. Raising the TC lock points has the opposite effect - you will get more available power sooner, but your mileage may suffer.

TC slip sends more torque to the wheels, because the engine is operating at a higher RPM.

I would also raise or lower the part throttle shift points to match the direction you have moved the TC lock/unlock points too.

AND, as I say in the Q&A, if you open the "Custom Options Menu", you MUST check and correct the TS and GR if it they are wrong (and one or both will likely be wrong).
