Help1 UPDATE ON CS TRANS SHIFTING POINTS !!!!!

i just got off phone with edge tech line and asked him about the shift point issue and he said that they removed "part throttle shift points" from the new EVO CS because not many people messed w/ that adjustment & they figured that it should just be removed !! ( those wer pretty much exact words from this man)!! He tells me that the "shift point" selection on the new CS is WOT shift points only !!! But as i said before when i adjust mine up Im getting higher shift points @ mid throttle and WOT !! So wer back to the confussion table again !!! Then i asked him about converter lock point adjustments and he said to get the "most outa the truck performance wise" to set lock up points in the negative or (sooner). Said that its makin the coverter lock sooner acting as a direct drive to the drivetrain & sending more power to the wheels instead of slipping a little longer ! I thought that I read sumwhere on here to set the lock point higher or (later) to get more performance outa truck and or better acceleration ?? Is this correct info ??? Mabe Im just different than alot of folks but if this thing has all these options & adjustments I want to use them all & be able to tune it to my liking with also the understanding of what does what !! Why not rite ??? Hope Im not bein to much of a HARDA## this is just sumthin that i believe should b cleared up for me and other users !! INPUT,INPUT,INPUT !!!???!!!??? THANKS AGAIN FOR ANY AND ALL RESPONSES !!

Bcriss - I don't think the guy you spoke to is correct here.

I have a CTS, and as far as I can tell, it has the same options as the CS, plus a few "bells and whistles".

My unit has part throttle up/downshift settings and part throttle torque converter lock/unlock settings. I would be VERY unhappy if those had been removed.

He's also exactly backwards on the TC lock/unlock settings.By setting them lower, you may gain a bit of fuel economy. If you move them higher, you are going to keep the engine in a higher power range longer and put it there sooner under mild load. If you're looking for "power", you set these points higher, not lower (and, the transmission is going to feel "twitchy" to you because the TC is going to unlock to give you more power at the slightest increase in load).

Let's wait until they get back to me on this. I have sent them my unit's files, all 5 Mb of them and the engineer who worked with Bill is going to look at what's going on.

This is a new platform - I expect them to have a few glitches in the beginning. Please be patient and give them a chance. I'm in the same boat with the rest of you.

He must be a new guy...probably because the older guy quit because he knew what was to come with all of these funky settings.

Jack is right, we need to slow down and let them catch up, they are probably swamped from hundreds of people having the same issues.

Do you guys think the shift settings are based on a % scale like some of the other settings(like the shift firmness on the regular gryphon)? As in +5 will be +5%?
Ex. 4800 rpm+5% would get you a little over 5000 rpm, 10% would be around 5280
I dont have a clue what the starting rpm shift point is but I would expect it to be similar. What are the kind of values can you set it as?

It's tempting to think these MAY be WOT % settings Longshot, but I don't believe it for an instant. I'm absolutely certain these are part throttle upshift/downshift points. I think the WOT shift settings are simply missing from the menu.

My guess is, this is something that can be fixed fairly easily, once Edge gets around to doing it.

But, I've just learned in a roundabout way, do not update the firmware on the CS/CTS platform if you have custom tunes. It looks like this WILL wipe out your custom tunes and may cause other problems.

Default No New News

Brian and anyone else reading this. I have not forgotten this issue, and I will keep everyone updated on what I learn.

I just got off the phone with Edge Tech Support again. I was told the Engineer working on this problem is "backed up" and not to expect anything new for a week or so. As I've said before, it's a new platform and I think it's going to take time to iron out the "bugs".

So for the moment, nothing new on the missing WOT shift menu items. And, I'm still waiting to hear from Bill on the firmware update issue using Fusion with a custom tuned CS/CTS. (If you don't have your custom tunes yet, a firmware update won't hurt anything).

Everyone please follow my lead and be patient. Things will be worked out in time.

Exclamation Nothing New On WOT Shifting Yet

Yesterday, I called Edge to ask about the missing WOT shift adjustment capability in the CS/CTS platform. After a LONG wait while the Tech Support guy apparently tracked down the engineer, he said that nothing has been done on this yet because the engineer has been told to work on something with higher priority. He said once that has been resolved, the engineer will be able to work on the WOT issue and some others.

I didn't ask what the "higher priority" problem was, so who knows how long it will take? Whatever it is, it seems to be something that is hard to fix, judging from the time it has taken so far. Possibly, it's something to do with the 09+ tuning applications.
