Default Contacted Edge Tech

So I emailed edge tech support this weekend with a couple questions about Avg Mpg and metric value display. Just thought I would share with you guys the answers I got from them.

Me:

I am unableto figure out how to display average MPG on my programer, I can find the instant Mpg but not the average. Hope you can help. I know it was there on the old evo but can't find it on this one?

Edge Tech:

I understand that it currently is not in the cs and cts. We are working on making it more accurate than it was before we release it. It will be on an update in a few months.

Me:

What are the odds of having the ability to change MPH to KPH and the
MPG to Liters/100km in a future update? can you please put a request
in for that as well or do I need to email someone else about this?

Edge Tech:

There are no plans to make any of our products display data in metric units. I apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Wow, for a company that prides itself in the statement, "what sets the company apart from its competitors is its monitoring capabilities," has no plans of including metric units? That is the most used unit globally.

Hey look, its my thousandth post.

Congrats, Longshot! But I agree with you.

To put things in perspective though, it's trivial to convert measurements from the "English" system to MKS. The more difficult job is to alter menus so you can choose one over the other. This actually CAN be a bit of a trick. So, if they don't think it's worth the effort, they won't do it.

It WOULD be nice if they would let Bill make the changes, and possibly allow Edge to use them? For a price? I think that could be a Win-Win-Win for everyone.

LOL........Funny how that works. I was wishing my Minotaur program would NOT use the Metric system. Converting stuff into units I can relate to is a hassle, and time consuming.

OP, I feel you pain............. there should be an option!

Haha dave, I know that too. For a while I couldn't figure out what the g/s on my gryphon stood for on the MAF sensor. Then I found out from Bill that no matter what I have the units set to it would be grams/sec.

Lucky for me I grew up around vet equipment so volumes aren't an issue. I know what 1 mL/1 cm^2(CC) is. Really helps out while working in a lab to be able to guestimate 2 mL when error is allowed.

Wait, Hold on a sec here! So the CS does NOT track avg MPG? Eventhough the the product description from Edge says it does? Am I understanding that right?

That is what we are experiencing. But, according to the OP, they are planning to include this feature once they improve it.

You can still track Inst MPG, and that gives you a "real time" view of your current gas consumption. The Avg MPG is more of a "history".

Yea, but doesn't updating a Gryphon CS delete your custom tunes?

At the moment, that seems to be the case. We KNOW Bill will work this issue out, after all, you use Fusion to download and install custom tunes. I'm not a bit worried.

Unfortunately I work with the metric system everyday , but with that being said, I can not believe that it is not an option.
