Default Would this camera work with the CTS?

Found this camera.
Wireless car backup camera 2.5" LCD Color Monitor and 2.4GHz Wireless Camera - Day & Night

Seems like it would eliminate a lot of wiring headaches.

Fairly inexpensive compared to edge's camera.
Plus its got ir for night vision.

By looking at the pictures of the cables and some that Jack posted on his camera install I think it will work. They also say the system is compatible if you already have some kind of screen with an A/V input.

I have one on the way on that slow boat from China that looks just like that one the way it mounts on the tag. It is a wired unit though. Only $17. I got one that is was going to use on the Camper and the Truck but It was hard to come up with a secure way to mount it to both without a lot of hassle.

OK that slow boat from China got here today. Here are some pictures.

Don't know if the connecting cable will be long enough to reach the CTS unit on my Crew Cab Short Bed F-250. I was already planning to use RG6 Coax and have it ready. I will have to wait till my CTS get back so I can see how it works. Also it is just to HOT outside.

88 -

I think the camera WILL work, it only needs an RCA feed and the receiver has that output. One thing though, the camera is a CMOS device and CCD types are considered superior (and are more expensive).

In the case of this one and the one DoneDunIt has, you MAY have to work out how to "turn the camera on". The Edge camera is "always on" and it's output is only displayed on the CTS when you are in reverse or when you manually select the camera using the menu (very simple - just push "Menu" and then push "Enter").

I think most aftermarket backup cameras are triggered on by the backup lights. You could probably override this by connecting the camera power supply to the trailer battery charge feed on the 7-pin connector so it would be "always on" too.
