Default Help--first time use

I just recieved my new cs programmer yesterday with custom tune already installed. when i plugged it in it went through a couple of screens and then asked for vin#, on about the fifth # it wouldnt pull up the correct choice.when you first get the cs and plug it in,what exactly do you do next? i was told all you have to do is plug it in by corey-i just dont want to ruin anything. i have a 2002 supercrew with 4.6L.

In my truck, the CTS figured out the VIN all by itself. This sounds like a "Bill" problem and I'll try to get his attention on this. However, it would not hurt for you to try calling them too.

I posted this in the Moderator's forum, but I don't know how quickly Bill will see it. Try calling him or Cody. You'll probably get faster results that way.

Dane,

I will let Bill know about your issues. He will likely end up calling Edge and figuring out what to do with the VIN problems. We've had a couple of those since the CS/CTS came out.

Never fear!

Default I BELIEVE I FIGURED IT OUT

the eighth # of my vin is 6, (engine) well the #6 isnt an option with the cs.W is an option and also represents 4.6l,so i just used "W' in its place and everything worked perfectly. i couldnt be happier,it runs great and all levels and custom tune are there. i sure hope bill reads this, because i think this has been the problem from the first. (whenever it tried to read my vin# it couldnt)-To BILL and everyone else that helped me -I am truly grateful-and am very sorry for being so much trouble! I am one happy customer! AGAIN THANKS-----Dane

Dane - we (at least I) don't consider you a problem at all. And, I certainly appreciate your feedback here to tell us what the needed "fix" seemed to be. As Cody said, others have had similar problems, usually with the 4.6L engine I think, and perhaps you've found a "general" fix for the problem. I DO seem to remember someone substituting for one of the digits/characters in the past, possibly on a different forum, and it was an "Edge approved" fix.
