I have a friend who purchased a CTS and said its not for him so I'm looking to take it off his hands. My question is can I still get the custom tunning for this programmer even though I didn't purchase from PHP?

Yes you can. Make sure your friend sets his truck back to stock before he gives it to you. Actually, since I think you have an 09 truck, you should make sure it will work in your truck before you buy it. I don't know if Edge has released firmware updates for the units they were selling for pre-09 trucks that will make them function with 09s. Until they do, if his truck is a pre-09 and yours is an 09+, it won't work for you at all.

If you plug it into your truck and it seems to initialize properly, then all is well. If it doesn't, nothing will be damaged, but it simply won't work.

Thanks JackandJanet. He bought the programmer for an 06 but if I'm not mistaken edge just came out with the firmware for the 09+.
