Default Newbie with questions about Gryphon CST

I've done lots of reading since I became a member. Some of the info has run together and I'm not sure if I'm correct in my thinking.

1) If I purchase a Gryphon CTS, it can be programmed with the ECM/TCM rollback strategies for me to use instead of having to wait for an available programmer. Then this would allow me more time to see which strategy and options works the best with my truck. I thought I read where there are like 4 different versions of a strategy to choose from.

2) I'm also wanting to purchase custom tunes which are for the FICM. Now from what I just read. I will be able to purchase more than the 4 tunes that originally listed that the CTS could hold. I was looking originally at a couple of different towing tunes and a daily driver. But now I could get the 4 (25,45,65,80) towing tunes,a daily driver tune and possibly a performance tune. These could all be stored along with the canned tunes and the stock tune. Of course tune selection for sure will pending PHP's recommendations. This was just a possible setup after reading where Bill posted that more tune can be stored now.

3) Now will the ECM/TCM rollback strategy that is chosen, be able to be stored or will it be lost when stock, canned and custom tunes are downloaded ? What actually becomes Stock since the PCM/TCM has been rolled back to an earlier strategy ?

This is just a few of the questions I have. Thanks in advance for any info. provided to answer these questions.

Sorry I left out the necessary info. I have a 2005 SD 6.0 PSD with AUTO tranny.

Ah, I guess you have a diesel and could you let us know what CID and year? I'm not going to be able to answer your questions, but Cody or Bill certainly can and I think they need that information.

I'll answer as best I can, but I have been wrong before.

1) No, I don't think the CS/CTS can be set to rollback your ECM/TCM. You would need the standard Evolution/Gryphon to do the rollback. If you know you want a CTS, you could use that, and read your strategies. If they are already a preferred strategy, you could order up your custom tunes for your CTS. If they aren't preferred, you could run with canned tunes and get in line for a reprogrammer for rollback, after that you could get custom tunes.

2) Yep, you can now get more tunes. You could probably get by with three, but if you want more it's now possible.

3) When the ECM/TCM rollback occurs, that becomes your new 'stock' strategy. The only way that will be changed is if for some reason it gets reflashed at a dealer. Strategies won't change with canned or custom tunes on the vehicle. Custom tunes are strategy dependant, so you probably want to get the preferred strategy before you spend the money on custom tunes.

Hope this helps.

BUMPING to top again in hopes maybe Bill,Corey or Cody can answer Question #1 with a more definite answer and what the best options for doing this might be.

Thanks to JackandJanet and F-127 for their replies.
