Default Edge Evolution CS vs Gryphon CS ???

Hey Guys... I'm new here and apologize in advance if I'm asking questions that have already been asked and answered before. My warranty has officially expired on my 2004 F250 6.0 and it's time to start the modification process.

I've been looking into the Edge Evolution CTS and ran across this site and saw what I think is the same device listed as a Gryphon CS at the same price of $499. My question is... are they different?

Also, I spoke with Edge and asked what the power settings were (because the website doesn't list them) and he said the 6.0 was Stock/Trans/60/100(3 levels + stock). Looking at this site the Gryphon CS it shows Stock/Trans/40/60/100(4 levels + stock). Is this the difference between the one from Edge and Gryphon, or is it a typo?

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I'm ready to buy, but just want to get the best one.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Hello Tom -

I'm not a diesel driver, but I believe there ARE four tune levels for the diesel CS/CTS platforms, not three. And, the CS is not the same as the CTS. The CTS has a bigger screen, will display the image from a backup camera and can display up to 8 PIDs when driving. The CS has no camera capability and shows fewer PIDs (at the same time), I think.

The only difference between the Edge CS/CTS and the Gryphon CS/CTS is that the Gryphon will accept customized tunes written by Bill. These are more "refined" than the "canned" tunes supplied by Edge.

You have other programmer options available though for your truck. Bill would be the best person to advise you. You should try to call him.

Hey Jack... thanks for the reply.

Actually I had a typo above. I was looking at the CS all along. Not sure why I typed CTS. I tried calling the number on the website and it said that messages here are rarely checked, so I decided to post.

Hopefully someone from Gryphon will see this thread and reply.

Thanks again,
Tom

Tom, I don't know how often Bill checks this forum. He's the one you really need to talk to. Cody (cleatus12r) is a diesel guy too, but I don't think he's really up to speed on the 6.0L engines.

Bill WOULD have your answers. He can be reached (with difficulty) at 678-890-1110 between 10:00AM and 3:00PM EST on weekdays.

The only difference is that the Gryphon has custom tunes from bill, which in my opinion are a worlds difference from the canned edge tunes. Bill just changes the firmware or something related to that, so that it will accept his custom tunes. I am not sure how many levels the evolution cs has, as i do not remember when i got it, but the Gryphon has 4 levels, plus a stock setting. In my opinion, if your going to spend the money, get the gryphon cs with bills custom tunes, as they are customized to your vehicle.

Hope this helps.
