If you plan on using E85, DO tell Bill you want a tune for that stuff. I can't really say if there is a power increase, but your MPGs will drop, since ethanol does not have the energy that real gas has. A tune specifically for that mix might help improve things a bit.

If you pay a dollar a gallon less, you'll have to do the math to see if it's worth your while to use it. I suspect it will be. Here, regular E10 gas is about $3.35/gal, so if you can get it at $2.35/gal, you are paying about 30% less. If your mileage drops less than 30%, you're in business.

Edit: I originally had 17% up here - why? I don't know, but the numbers should be 30%.

Per Ford, the average MPG decrease is 30-35%.

So if regular gas is $4.00, E85 would have to be around $2.80 (70%) to pay for the MPG loss.

Obviously this will vary between trucks, region, driver, type of driving, towing, etc.

You also need to factor in the increased maintenance costs (assuming you are following the maintenance schedule).

I'm on record everywhere with my opposition to corn alcohol. In my opinion, it belongs in my drinks and not in my gas tank. (I get much more mileage out of it that way.)

I don't think up and down the driveway on your Big Wheel counts as mileage..
