Default CS IDLING 750-800 RPM???

I got my custom 87-performance tune about a week ago. I love it!!!! I liked the 87 tow tune but the performance tune is awesome. My only concern is that my idle went from 575-600 RPM to 750-800 RPM. Is that normal? My gas mileage has gone down but that is probably my fault . Just want to make sure I’m not doing any damage. Thanks for the help.

The idle speed is set to 650 in the tuning. Strange.

I will rebuild the file and have Bill put it back on Fusion if you can give me a couple of days.

While you're waiting, reinstall the tune, but this time accept the offer to use "Custom Options". In that menu, when it comes up, set your idle speed to -125. That should reduce it to 675-625.

I think someone else had this exact problem, but I may be having a "false memory". If you try reducing the idle on your own, let us know if it works. I also recall someone else saying it didn't - so I'm trying to improve my understanding of things.

So should I try to set the idle lower or just have Bill rebuild the file? I dont mind giving it a shot but I just want to make sure there isnt any other isues with the tune. I don't mind running the 87 Tow Tune for a couple of days. Thanks for the quick reply's By the way, do I need to give you my info "cleatus12r" ?

I'm just a Moderator here, Cleatus12r (Cody) is a Tuner and Moderator who works with Bill. He has the information you gave PHP.

I doubt seriously there's an issue with the tune if you're not seeing other problems. And, yes, I'd kind of like you to be a "guinea pig" to see if the idle can be adjusted in the custom options. You have a reason to try it - I don't, but if you don't try, I'll probably try changing this setting sometime, so I can report on it.

However, you DO want this fixed in your custom tune. You paid for a tune you should not have to "play with". (That, by the way, was a quote from Bill when I got my first custom tune. I think it says a lot about his approach to this whole subject.)

All right, I'll be your guinea pig. I'll set my idle speed to -125 and report back after a day of driving. It's Funny, I work with computers all day but the one in my truck scares the crap out of me haha. Thanks again for all the help.

It's because you really can't control it, and, you depend on it to get you from point A to B. I'm the same way. I taught computer programming and microprocessor design for 20 years at the U of A, and I'm just as scared of the PCM as you are.

Might also try reprogramming to the tune. I recently did some playing around and switched my truck to stock for the lack of throttle response. When I programmed back my truck was idling at 450 I left the truck over night and reprogrammed. Then it was fixed. I think the PCM was too hot for programming. I got really lucky. I think the temp range for reprogramming is 20 degrees to 120 degrees. With a dark truck sitting in the sun, 120 is easy for me to hit. My engine and tranny were 128 when I cranked it this afternoon for my way home and the truck had been sitting for a while.

I'm having the opposite issue, I can't get my truck to idle higher than 600 while in drive. I upped it 250 in the custom options and it will hum along while in park or nuetral but the revs will drop to as low as 399 while coming up to or sitting at a light.

Keeps setting off the IAC error that's not supposed to exist too.
