Default Gryphon CS Problem

I just got my custom tunes from Bill tonight so I updated my gryphon and hooked up to my truck. The first time I tried the update, I got a checksum error and it showed my HEX code. I figured I'd just try it again and it went through fine. Now the problem I'm having is that my odometer is no longer working. It just shows lines through it and no numbers. Any help would be great. Thanks.

There is a problem - I honestly would not do anything more (as long as your truck starts and runs) until you talk to PHP. Can you try to get on to their "Live Chat" system?

My truck started and ran fine after the update. It's just the odometer that isn't working. I guess I'll just give them a call in the morning.

What worries me, is that SOMETHING in the tune file did not get loaded into the PCM properly. Fortunately, it does not seem to be something that effects the engine or the transmission. But, as the tune loads (you probably noticed this), the odometer is blanked out (in my truck the check engine light comes on). Then, when the tune finishes loading, everything returns to normal.

The fact that you got a checksum error makes me think the PCM is not loading the tune the way it should. Do you know the condition of your battery? A low battery voltage can cause tune loading problems. If there's any way you can test the battery condition (a load test at an auto parts store is probably best), I'd do it. The test should be free.

I suspect PHP will have you return the tune to stock, and then, if the ODO condition goes away, you could try reloading your tune. But, I'm reluctant to tell you to do that (unless you have access to alternate transportation in case something goes wrong). And, I would not try it unless you know your battery is good.

Nope, it was a dumb *** mistake on my part.

For whatever reason I inadvertently disabled the odometer in his custom tune. It will be on Fusion tonight.

Cool! There you have it. (Maybe this will give you a few more miles of actual driving before your warranty is out.)

Thank you for the quick response to get the new tune on the fusion server. My truck works the best it ever has with the new tune on it.

That's the bottom line, isn't it? My experience with a tuned truck is the same.
