I have a 97 f150 5.4l and my buddy has a 2000 expedition with the 5.4l and he recently got his gryphon in the mail but neither one of us have got our custom tunes yet. But my question is why do the can tunes make a huge difference with his truck and with mine i couldnt really tell a power difference, were both running level 3 with no changes in the tunes.

The 97-03 trucks give allow only about half of the power gains of the 04-08 trucks.

but he has a 2000 and i have a 97 and the differance with him is like night and day and i didnt see a big horsepower gain.

I think Ford might have switched to an electronic throttle as well as a few other things by that time in the Expeditions. The Expeditions are usually used as an experimental group because they are very similar to the high seller F150s but there'd be less recalls if it didn't work.
