Okay. so i called edge today about the continuing problem with this pinging issue with my evolution cts. they are now telling me that it is not my programmer, but is something with my truck. they asked if i had any other mods done to my truck which i do not. they then told me that their notes say i have a cai. again truck is completely stock. the tech then asked what fuel octane i am running. i told him that i ran regular on levels 1 and 2 and ran premium on level 3. he recommended i try running a higher octane on levels 1 and 2. i informed him that i had already tried premium on level 2 and reiterated that level 1 was causing no problems. with that being said the tech says that it is something wrong with my truck. he then recommended that i change my spark plugs and not gap them as much. either way the tech was absolutely sure that it is my truck for 2 reasons. 1) i am not having problems on all 3 levels. just on levels 2 and 3.
2)they have continued to say that i am the only customer that is having this problem.
from the way it is looking edge just does not give a crap and im getting tired of waiting. i know everyone is gonna say to get custom tunes and i have every intention to do so. especially now. obviously if there was not a problem then we would not be posting about this on a forum with a sticky specifically for this problem. bill or cody if either of you happen to read this post you might make it a point to get with edge about this. im getting tired of fighting with them. i feel i have been more than paitient with them since i have had this problem from the beggining since july of this year. anywho thats where i am at on this whole thing. if anyone has any input or ideas i would much appreciate it.

thank you and sorry for the long rant

Crispy09 - I will call Edge tomorrow and voice my frustrations as well (I haven't done so yet). I bought custom tunes from PHP just for the reasons you're bringing up. Unfortunately, nothing changed....pinging was still there and actually things got worse. My rev limiter is now kicking in around 4,200 RPM which doesn't even get me into my passing gear.

I've been trying to contact PHP For weeks and am getting nothing from Bill, who's supposedly the guy I need to talk to.

I've had this device long enough to have forgotten when I actually bought it. It hasn't worked a lick since the day I plugged it in. It's truly unfortunate because this only confirms what many believe to be true about aftermarket products.....they are more trouble than they're worth.

I'm giving PHP a few more weeks to get around to helping me out. If i do get some response and a fix doesn't provide me with 150% satisfaction i will return it for a full refund.

Just got off the phone with Edge and they are recommending I update to the most recent version (3.0?). Since I have custom tunes, i'll need PHP to re-write them before I can load them......SO......

Looks like at least another 4 weeks before I'll know whether the pinging sound goes away. Not really sure if i'm going to do it......this is getting kind of ridiculous.

Yea they told me the same thing, but of course it didn't do a thing. In fact I think it messed up the mileage coach, because it doesn't seem to keep track of mileage on it or on the maintience manager.

Ampin,

I am having the same issues. Canned tunes caused pinging so I ordered custom tunes now the custom tunes cause pinging and there is really no answer in sight. Have you heard anything on your situation?

Gray09150, I haven't heard back. It's really been a dissappointing experience since I opened the box some 6 months ago.

Ampin,

I received an "updated" tune and they are still pinging.I am not sure what to think at this point but my cs might be coming up for sale in the near future.

Hello all! Well I received a call from edge today. They are sending me a superchips flashpaq tuner. They want me to use the datalogging feature on it and send it back so they can pinpoint the problem. We'll see what they come up with. They still claim that I am the only one having this issue. Idk I guess I can be thankful that they are finally trying to find a solution. Anywho, that's where I'm at now.
