Question Gryphon CS Beep Upon Start up

I have had my CS for about a month now and it started making a single beeping noise on start up right before the gauges appear on the screen. It doesn't do it every time. I thought it might be the unit had just got hot but it's done it first thing in the morning when it's about 70 outside. Anybody have any insight?

I've never had this happen, but my CS/CTS manual (page 66) has "Screen Beeps Quickly" as a possible device malfunction and to update the device using Fusion. I can't tell from this information though if that "quick" beep means a single beep or a series of rapid beeps. But, I'm assuming you're not getting a "long beep", which is from a hot screen.

If you don't have custom tunes yet, updating the device should not be a problem and I'd try it. Make sure you put your truck back to stock before disconnecting it from the truck though.

If you DO have custom tunes, they would have to be reloaded to the Fusion server by Bill. The update will replace them with canned tunes. He'll be gone for the next week starting tomorrow, so you'd have a bit of a wait for your tunes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I updated the unit before installing it in my truck. I am currently running firmware 3.200155733. I will try to get a video of what its doing.

I suspect that's the latest firmware, but I don't think Edge's site tells you this. I know the 3.x firmware series was a big update that added functionality for 09+ trucks, not so much for anyone else.

Still if you're waiting on a custom tune it pays to keep the firmware current so that you can download the custom tunes without having a firmware update overwrite them.

Good video - I've never noticed this on my CTS. I really don't know what to suggest. Everything else seems perfectly normal.

Thanks Jack. I'm going to keep an eye on it. I will try to see what edge says about it.

Heres an update. Edge is saying that there is possibily an alert that is causing the beep. After disscussion we possibly narrowed it down to the battery alert. They asked that I keep an eye on it and narrow down which parameter was causing this beep.

I suppose that could be. What do you have the battery voltage alert set at? Mine is at 12.6 Volts.

I want to say it was set on 10v but it might have been 6. I have disabled it for now to see but will set it around 12 when I turn it back on.
