Just purchased a unit for my 07 f150, was curious what canned tunes it came with. Was looking through the forums and from what Ive been reading it seems like the performance tune is 93, but when I ordered my gryphon cs through PHP I though it said that it comes with a 91 performance tune, not 93?

It'll probably be the 91. Because of variability in premium (like high altitudes having 91 in place of 93) the 93 was replaced with 91. Basically it is just for premium fuel only.

There is very little difference in relation the 91-93 octane fuels, and in most cases a 93 octane fuel program would run just fine on 91 or even 89 octane fuel. The canned tunes usually leave enough headroom to avoid any concerns. However, I would not recommend running a 93 octane program with 87 octane fuel, especially if you're pulling. Elevated engine/cylinder temps caused by pulling a load combined with a more aggressive (leaner) fuel curve and a lower octane fuel could result in detonation which could lead to engine damage. It's always best to match the fuel and programs as best as you can. If necessary, run a program that is LOWER than the fuel in the tank. This will avoid any concerns.
