So i got a cs for my 2008 f150 a few days ago hooked it up and all went well ran a few days on level2. last night i drove to a friends house it was very cold out -25c (-13f). everything was running fine but when i got in my truck to come home the screen did not turn on. it produced two beeps every few minutes all the way home. today i brought the unit inside to warm up but its still doing the same thing. the cold is probably unrelated but whats going on here? also wondering if its safe to update the edege, i dont have my custom tunes yet.
thanks |

I think the problem IS related to the cold (and possibly reduced battery voltage). The symptoms sound like that. If you have a battery charger, try connecting that to the battery and use the lowest setting, (ideally about 2 Amps). Leave the charger connected when you plug in the CS (all warmed up from being inside). If you don't have a charger, drive the truck until it's all warmed up, and then with the engine off, try plugging in the CS. The CS tries to protect itself from reduced voltages and extreme cold. It might be best to just leave it off the truck if the truck is sitting constantly in your Arctic conditions. This will not affect the tune. - Jack

I called edge, they had me update the unit despite it being stuck on the tow tune, apparently this is a problem they are aware of, i expressed my concerns about loosing my stock tune. but they claimed it would be restored with the process we went threw. everything is working now. thanks for the advice anyways.

This same problem has happened twice to me. I went through the process with Edge and its fixed it both times. Not sure what the problem is.

OK - If Edge says to do something, I'm not going to argue. But, for anyone else with what seems to be the "same problem", I would NOT connect the CS/CTS to Fusion without contacting Edge or PHP first (if there is a tune on the truck).
