Default 87 tow tuned (canned) w/ 93 octane

I am currently running the canned 93 performance tune while awaiting my custom 87 performance tune. I do not do much towing, but if I do, would I be able to program the truck to the canned 87 towing and increase the timing to +3 since I will be running 93 octane?

If you have 93 octane gas in the tank, you SHOULD be able to increase the timing if you are using the tow tune. (Notice I'm not saying to tow using a 93 octane Performance tune.)

But, because of the "load" on the vehicle, I don't think I'd simply advance the timing by +3. I think I'd start with +2 at first and see how it goes. Then maybe +2.5, +2.75, and finally +3.0.

I can't tell you what to look for here, because I have not tried it. But, if you experience any "discontinuous" performance or obvious bad behavior when you change something, it's a sign you've gone too far.
