Default Batt Voltage Display?

Ive noticed some changes to my Display in the last week or so. I cant find any engine problems so I figure I would see what you guys think.

One of my 4 selected displays on my Gryphon is Battery Voltage. Before the issue when I started up the battery voltage display would show 14.1 - 14.4 volts. Now in the last week when the truck starts up the battery voltage display shows about 12.2-12.4 volts but within seconds starts ramping up to the 14 volt area and holds there while I'm driving. Is this normal and if so why do you think it just started doing this. The last thing I have done to the truck where new HID wiring and I got an inspection, both within a few days before the issue started.

How old is your battery?
What time of day are you driving?
Are your lights on or off?
How long does your truck sit in between start ups?
Does this happen from sitting overnight?
Does this happen after short trips with short shut offs?
Does this happen after long trips with short shut offs?
Are your ballests wired correctly?

The alternator is the original stock one. I'm trying to go to the shop today and have it tested.
