Exclamation STATE INSPECTION ADVISORY FOR GRYPHON/EDGE OWNERS

Recent threads and posts are indicating that some of your trucks are going in for state inspections.
If you do the following you'll have a better chance at passing.
1. There should be no need to put the truck back to stock level 0.
2. Simply unplug and remove programmer and cable and go to test station.

If the above aren't followed and you put your truck back to stock level 0 you'll get a p1000 code and won't pass.

If you think you need to have the truck tested with stock programming than do it a week before and drive at least 50 miles before going to the test station.

Any state that has emissions testing and/or connects to the ODBI or ODBII port as part of the testing.

If your State or locality (in Arizona we have two "localities" - Tucson and Phoenix) requires an emissions inspection, you'll know about it. If you've never heard of this inspection, I doubt it's required where you live.

I wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't seem to get the P1000 code when I switch back to stock though? I ALWAYS put the truck back to stock whenever I take it in for service, even an oil change, and I've NEVER seen the P1000 (or any other code).

Come to think about it now?
I don't think I have ever seen it pop up when I go back to stock either.
Hmmmmm........
Interesting.

And, I THINK the Gryphon will "see" and display a P1000 code? Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Th gryphon will see the P1000 code because I've had it come up when I returned to stock. I was thinking that the cause of your lack of code could be from differences in year model but it looks like we are all in the same '04-'08 year bracket (or at least Jack and I do). I guess that is a quirk that your two trucks have. Kinda like my speedometer is right on with the gryphon display among other things.

Thats the difference in mine and yours right? Not between you and Jack's?
That would be interesting to see how many other trucks will do that.
