Default Custom Dump bed

I got the dump bed built and operational... cost about $1800 of various used parts. the 14ft military bed (also have the stake sides for it) I believe its a later model drop side bed $700. Harsh RL50 power up and down twin cylinder dump hoist with pump and tank via craigslist $450. PTO unit for Allison AT545 came from heavy truck wrecking yard in Hudson CO for $300.. new driveshaft, yokes and U-joints were about $160. 6 gallons of ATF $40. cable for shifting hydraulic valve $20.. 2 new 11 ft hyd hoses with fittings $150
based on the location of the dump mounting points its rated for around 15 tons.

Hardest part was getting all the mounting points for the dump hoist in the right place. that bed is HEAVY to lift up used bobcat and the winch off the back of my truck to lift and hold bed. its set for a 50 degree dump angle. on a side note I just got a warn 8274 winch of craigslist for $200... its either going onto the trailer or into the bed of this truck.

Glad you got it done!

Those poor boys in the truck shops don't know how good they have got it with those overhead rail cranes!

Yes those mounting points for the lift can be tricky to position sometimes.
To close to the front not enough lift angle and to close to the back not enough lift power.
