Default Cannot Connect Issue

I am trying to connect my recently purchased Gryphon so that I can download my custom tune. I have tried installing the Pegasus software on several computers with no luck.

The first system is a 64-bit Vista machine. I tried the recommended approach with no help.

I then tried my 32-bit XP machine, which had the same problem.

I made sure to wait until the Pegasus software had installed before plugging the gryphon USB in.

I sent a message to Cody mid last week and have never heard back, so maybe I can get a bit more answers on here.

I've spent 5+ hours trying to connect this device and I'm hoping someone can help sort out this issue for me.

Thanks,
Michael

Michael,

I'll be happy to help get the problem corrected for you. I do need some info, though.

If you could please correct the User Control Panel to include your last name, that would be helpful. I don't know which of the "Michael" customers you are, which makes things a little difficult. Also, please include a contact number in your user info.

Thanks!

Bill,

I tried in on a third computer late last night and was able to get a connection. Not sure what the issue was on the previous attempts, but I believe I am all sorted out.

Thanks for your reply,

Michael

So I am having an issue using 64 bit Windows 7...

I followed the steps on how to uninstall and reinstall the Pegasus client and drivers but even after I get notification the driver has installed properly The client shows as "Not Responding" and the tuner is still red...

Could this be related to the fact I haven't gotten any of my programs yet?

Now, when you get your computer working again, reopen Pegasus and go to Help>Install USB Drivers. You may have to go through and delete the current ones. DO NOT plug the programmer into the computer until you have fully loaded Pegasus. Next, if you are running anything else in the background, close it. Less things to run while doing Pegasus the better.

Ok, no matter which USB driver I install, I get the same results with the exception sometimes Windows successfully installs the drivers and sometimes it doesn't...

Also, every time I install Pegasus, the first attempt fails with an error 1722, then I re-do the install and select repair installation then it installs...

Any tips?

Alrighty!

Got it connected. I went into Device Manager and just pointed Windows where the driver file was located and wouldn't you know it, the display turned green!

Good, but for future reference. Get everything loaded before you ever plug in the programmer.

I did load everything as per the directions and still had issues. I'm just glad I know my way through Windows 7 cause the errors didn't make sense... I figured this hardware can't be that unique that Windows 7 couldn't figure it out.

Well Windows 7 can be finicky. Not everyone has the same issues. Some people have tons of trouble, others, like me, were able to get going without any problems.

I sure do like it more than Vista though but not as much as the XP.
