Default Need help, cant read "box code"

I tried getting in there with a flashlight and a butter knife but I can't see the thing at all, is there another way at doing this? does the PCM pull out just a little?

What year truck? If it's a 99+, you can unbolt the back of the PCM case (by the parking brake), push the back of the case towards the brake pedal about 25 degrees, and then yank back on the case. The PCM will stay in place but the case will slide back. You should then be able to see a black, plastic cap with the box code of the PCM on it. If not, then you might remove the PCM harness connector and take the PCM the rest of the way out.

Most OBDII scanners don't provide the calibration code in the PCM. It depends on what your using. If there is any option such as vehicle information, calibration information, software level, or anything like that, you might be in luck. Nearly all strategies will begin with a "V", such as VNAA4S2 or VHAE9J2. It may also begin with a "T", such as TNAA4S2.

Let me know if we can be of further assistance.
